The Vefarar

Ever since the founding of Port Atlantica the Western Pierside has been protected. What is commonly known was at first it was just The Captain, focusing her efforts on that one particular part of the city. But eventually her appearances had become less frequent, and the general rate of reported crime took a massive nose dive. Some called it a miracle, others called it happenstance since the P.A.P.D. had been established. Those who kept their ear into the criminal underworld however, knew that there was an unforgiving force that had been waiting. The first wave came in white and black suits with strange masks, informing those who were building their empire that the Western Pierside had rules. To follow them would ensure protection, to go against them would mean destruction. These fancily dressed men and women came to be known as the Vefari.   Although their operations stretch farther than the island of Atlantica, it is within this city that their concentrated efforts are the strongest. After all, it was the entire reason the organization was made. A crude but highly effective force to protect the average person from the criminal under-belly. For controlling it was a better alternative to stamping it out. With this Control they keep most of the trade that goes on within the Western Pierside clean, as well as dealing with the occasional fish monster trying to drag someone within the depths.
Gang Rules:
  • No kids: Should be self explanatory. Do not deal or sell to children, do not kidnap them, do not touch them. Protect them, ensure they have the choice to not lead the lives that we do. There will be no mercy for anyone who violates this rule.
  • Illegal activities post Curfew: Keep your wheeling and dealing until sundown. Don’t make the same mistake as others who get too confident and do it out in the open. Less eyes, less troubles, and more opportunity for profit. Hope you enjoy the night shift.
  • The Vefari Tax: 15% of what you make goes to the Vefari. In return; you get protection, information, networks, maybe even a get out of jail free card if one of Atlantica’s finest gets you put away. A small fee for many benefits.
  • We are Professionals, have standards: That means no sexual assault of any kind. Torture is a case by case basis. Killing must be the last option. The more people go missing, the more eyes we have on us.
  • Disputes: Settle them without violence whenever possible. If we can’t stand together than we’ll all suffer.
  •
    Leaders
  • The Captain: Vana - The head of the Habristiel Trading Corporation, and of the Vefari operating in the Western Pierside.
  • The Crow: A woman that not too many people have ever seen before. But those who have described her as a tall african-american woman with an 80’s noir detective style.
  • The Hanged Man: A much more astute and demure man who manages the northern side of the West. Operating mainly on the border between Western Pierside and the Nine Rings/High-Rise district.
  • The Behemoth: A man with a similar type build to King Pin. A tall asian man with slicked back hair built like a brick house and can punch you into next week. He manages business in the south side, as well as being the leader of the Enforcers that keep things mostly peaceful.
  •
    Elite Minions (Super Medium Weight)

  • Vefari Vikings: These are the best of the best, the one percent of the Vefari chosen for their exceptional skill and training. For every twenty Vefari there is but one Viking, clad in power armor and armed to the teeth. It is the common consensus that if a viking is in your presence, it means that negotiations are over.
  • Vefari Ravens: The scouts. Not typically seen out in public, these are the eyes and ears of the organization. It is even rarer to see them in uniform, because most of their day is spent as an ordinary person. They could be walking right by you on the street and you wouldn’t know. They scour anything from the deepest pit to the dark web to the local newspaper. Information is their currency, their bread and butter, and these are typically who new recruits meet first.
  •
    Common Goons (Street Level)
  • The Middle Men: More or less the backbone of the organization. This title encompasses everyone from the lowest rank goon in casual clothes roaming the streets, to the standard man in a white suit working in your office. Quite literally the average joe who decided to try and be a part of something bigger. They are numerous, they are faceless, but they are vicious in their own right. For they know what they have signed up for. The gang exists at all levels, people from all classes have a voice. It is because of that voice that they are so ingrained, and because of that voice they remain united.
