Brewer's Supplies

The Process
Step 1
Pick a Recipe
[ You can attempt to make more than one type -- up to 3.
If you try to make 3 at a time, you roll with disadvantage. ]
  Step 2
Roll a WIS Check + Proficiency - VS - Brew DC
[ If you pick 2 recipes to do at once, add the DCs and reduce the sum by 9.
The total is your new Brew DC. You do the same if you attempt 3, but roll with disadvantage. ]

  Step 3
Roll amount die, and make servings equal to result.
[ When you make more than one, use the lowest amount die out of all the recipes brewed. ]

    Brewer's Supplies

Brewer's Supplies include a mash tun, copper kettle, piping, a siphon, a series of mesh filters, a small fermenting vat, and basic malt, hops and spices. Proficiency with Brewer's Supplies allows you to add your Proficiency Bonus to any check you make for brewing. These supplies cost 30 gp (or 18 sh) and weigh 50 lbs.

    Brewing

When brewing an item, you must know its recipe, have access to the requisite materials and spend an hour preparing it. Then, you must wait the amount of time needed for it to process and ferment and can then drink it. Anytime a check is called for in brewing this beverage, you must make a Wisdom check, and if you are proficient in Brewer's Supplies, you may add your Proficiency Bonus to the check. Then, you make an amount of servings equal to the 'amount die' specified in the recipe.

    Brewed Recipes

Every brewed beverage requires a recipe to make. This recipe lists out any special ingredients you need, the amount of time required to ferment, and the difficulty of the beverage. Some special ingredients may require you to purchase them in town, or to go on quests to find them. You can learn new recipes by visiting other brewers, travelers or in faraway monasteries that guard their brews and recipes. You can also make a Brewer's Supplies check if you encounter a brewed beverage and you want to determine how you could craft it yourself (though this process will be difficult). Usually, you can only have one recipe brewing at a time in your fermenting vat. However, you can attempt to brew more than one recipe by adding both recipe's DC and reducing that number by 9. If you succeed on that check, you make an amount of servings equal to the lowest amount die of the two recipes, shared by both brews. You can purchase another Brewer's Supplies to make more than one brew at a time.

    The Process

When determining what beverage you wish to brew, you must gather the requisite ingredients first for the recipe. After that, you can then begin the process of brewing by creating your mash and then boiling that mixture of grains and spices, this can be done in a short or long rest. You will then make a Brewer's Supplies check based off of the DC of the recipe you are attempting, if you fail the check the mash can still be turned into the beverage, but it will have not have any Effects.

    Imbibing

A creature can only drink an amount of brews equal to its Constitution Modifier or gain the Poisoned condition. So if a creature has +2 in constitution, it can only drink up to 2 brews before a short rest.   A character can only benefit from one Brewed Beverage per short rest at a time. The effects of a second or third brew therefore undo the effects of earlier brews [unless the brew's duration is instantaneous]. If your brew isn't consumed immediately, you can bottle your brew for a later use. Each bottled brew weighs half a pound. If you wish to buy these, you may be able to find them sold at specialty breweries, their costs can range from two to ten times their Ingredient costs.
