Svarog
Tiefling Warlock
Svarog (a.k.a. The Soulless)
Svarog's early childhood was like most children, until both his parents were captured and taken from him. To this day he still does not know why or how. The tiefling, now at the age of 12, was forced to grow up on the streets of Twyrif. It was hard for him to survive through honest work so he started with stealing a little piece of bread.
And from that one piece of bread, it went downhill fast for the young boy. Now aged 15, he was working with a small gang and doing full-scale heists in the rich part of town. But this kid was not an ordinary criminal. He did not spend his money on whores and riches, no, he spent it all on books and the arcane which threw him on an even darker path. Desperate and greedy for more gold and knowledge he planned a heist in the Twyrif Castle to steal one of the most precious gems in the kingdom. Once inside he heard a mysterious calling from the library. There he found an old map of the city and a strange place was marked on the map somewhere in the Hofendal's sewer system.
He left to find this mysterious place and after years of searching and digging through various places of the city, he found a small entrance inscribed with a language he had never seen before. He entered the tunnels and found the ruin of an ancient civilization from long before the times of men. It was swarming with mysterious creatures, but none attacked him. Instead, they all kneeled before him as if he was part of an ancient prophecy. He followed the trail to eventually arrive and an old altar. He suddenly heard a voice thundering through the underground city.
"Do you, son of no one, accept My gift?"
Svarog answered: "And what, oh wise being, must I give in return?"
The voice said: "You must sacrifice yourself to Me to claim my gift. Take the knife and cut your heart out and place it on the pedestal. Then take this gemstone and wear it until u find the child of the prophecy."
For almost a century he would go on terrorizing cities and abducting children for his vile research. When the villagers would find their lost sons and daughters they would be nothing more than empty husks; alive, but wounded, stripped of all emotions and traumatized for all eternity. Nobody knew who he was and he soon became a part of the folklore known as 'Svarog the Soulless'.
