The Eldritch Castle

Descending the seemingly endless stairs, the Champions reached a stone door adorned with tentacles. Choosing caution, they decided to backtrack, but returning proved futile as Ub couldn't reach the castle. Forced to continue, they entered the abandoned castle's entrance hall, discovering undead creatures hungry for flesh. The Champions fought through the monsters, searching for keys and unlocking new areas. Alleria's ill-fated attempt to clear a goo-covered wall revealed a portal to a terrifying creature. Further exploration led them to a dining hall infested with tentacles, where Brakathar's defiance cost him his life as the tentacles devoured his mind and soul.

The doors in the cave opened to stairs that led the Champions down. It seemed to wind down endlessly until it ended at a large stone door with tentacles carved on it. Suspicious of the situation they decided to back track. Ub went back up the stairs, but never reached the castle. It seemed like there was no longer a way back. he decided to head back down again, only to find he was hardly out of sight of the rest of the party.   They agreed that they had no other choice but to proceed and entered through the doors. Behind the doors they found what looked like an entrance hall of a castle, though it seemed like it was abandoned long ago. Furniture was covered in a thick layer of dust and painting on the wall showed humanoid figures without faces.   The Champions explored the castle, where they found that the previous inhabitants were turned into undead creatures with an insatiable hunger for flesh. They fought their way through the monsters, searching for keys, and opening new areas of the castle.   During their explorations, Alleria found a room with a wall covered in crawling goo. She decided to shoot a Guiding Bolt at it, hoping to clear the wall. instead, it opened some sort of portal, through which Alleria saw a horrific creature. It's collosal body was carried by seven crooked legs of black-ish flesh, and each leg was covered in countless eyes. All at once the eyes focussed on Alleria, after which the portal closed. Alleria asked the rest to investigate further, but they were unable to open the portal again.   Eventually they found what once was the dining hall. Several corpses leaned forwards over the table with their faces in their rotten, maggot infested food. Upon further inspection the maggots turned out to be tiny tentacles crawling over the food and the corpses. As the Champions investigated the room the corpses animated, with countless tiny tentacles crawling over their bodies. As they clawed at the Champions the tentacles jumped onto the Champions and penetrated their skin, directly eating away at their mind and soul. Each Champion desparately tried to get these tentacles off their skin, but Brakathar ignored them, fiercely attacking the undead.   When one of the undead struck a blow to Brakathar that knocked him out. His mind, which was chipped away at by the tentacles, was unable to cling to his body, and he died.
