After Mea's failed attack, Jared and his men launched a fierce assault on the party. The fight was challenging, but the group prevailed, except for Jared, who escaped using magic. They searched the bodies, confirming their affiliation with the Whisper Guild. As armored figures approached, the group scattered to avoid being discovered. Mea witnessed Captain Fedryc Fyld and others arriving at the scene, and later overheard a suspicious conversation between Fedryc and the Grandmaster of the Merchants' Guild. The party reconvened at the tavern, realizing they couldn't trust anyone.
After Mea's failed attempt to dropkick Jared, the party was attacked by Jared and his men; two archers on the roofs and several thrugs hidden in the alley. Meanwhile, Janek arrived at the scene. The fight was tough and challenging, but one by one the party managed to kill their assaillants. Finally the group engaged Jared, attempting to surround him and knock him out for questioning, but he used magic and escaped. The group stuck around for a little while hoping to learn more from their dead enemies. They searched their bodies, and found proof that they were members of the Whisper Guild, though they already figured as much. Suddenly they were alarmed by the clattering of armor down the alley. The group couldn't afford to be found at this scene and scattered. Mordrack took Alleria and mistystepped away into an abandoned building. Janek and Rakrashkar ran off to the tavern where they were staying and Mea used his Winged Boots to hover in the air. The moons were both new, making the night pitch dark and Mea hard to be spotted from the ground. Mea witnissed as Captain Fedryc Fyld, Captain of order of the Golden Bascinet, arrived at the scene, followed by two knights of the order and four city guards. The group stopped in the middle of alley, where Fedryc glanced around, seemingly unsurprised by what he saw. "Make sure they can't be identified," said Fedryc to the city guards, and quickly left of with the two knights. Mea followed Fedryc, who went to the Merchants' Guild and entered alone, leaving the two knights outside. mea suspected he went to the Grandmaster of the Merchants' Guild and hovered just outside the Grandmaster's window, where his suspiscions were confirmed. He tried to eavesdrop on the conversation, but couldn't make out much, except a few phrases. "They weren't their," said Fedryc, and the Grandmaster answered: "the will take care of it." Mea didn't know what to make of it, but it was clear that no one could be trusted. He went back to the tavern to meet with Janek and Rakarashkar.
