The Champions arrived in Twyrif and visited an antiquarian and blacksmith, but both were uncooperative. They realized people were hesitant to share information. They headed to the Merchants' Guild and, after bypassing security, questioned the Guild Master. He provided vague answers and directed them to the Barrack of the Golden Bascinet. There they met Fredric Fyld, who reluctantly shared details and warned them to stay out of trouble.
After arriving in Twyrif the Champions started asking around. They started with visiting and antiquarian near the Slums. They had been her before, and were welcomed with little warmth. They were told to wait, by one of the staff, and eventually were able to talk to the shop owner. He gracefully refused to give the party any useful information, only spilling that “their kind had it coming”. After that the man shut down and it became clear that they wouldn’t get any more information from this man. They headed to the blacksmith, another place that they had visited before. The blacksmith responded with unease, as he remembered their previous encounter and hoped to get them out of his shop quickly. The Champion started interrogating him about the missing person in the Slums, but the was unable, or maybe unwilling to let loose anything. After harassing the man for longer than a decent Hero would, they left him. They started to realize that people weren’t so willing to share their knowledge with them, and something might be off about this. The only lead they had was that almost all the missing persons were shop owners, and they decided to head to the Merchants’ Guild to around. As they entered the Merchants’ Guild they were received by a kind butler, who told them to wait as he would call for someone to receive them. Mea decided he didn’t want to wait and instead walked through the entrance hall and started exploring the Guild House, searching for the Guild Master’s office. They eventually reached it and were told not to enter, but didn’t heed the warning. They entered the office and directly asked the Guild Master what he knew about the missing person cases. The Guild master was secretive and seeming like he was choosing his words very carefully. All their questions were answered with fake sympathies and insincere wishes. In the end he told them to head to the Barrack of the Golden Bascinet, the local law enforcement. He would make sure that their Captain would cooperate with them. When they arrived at the Barrack they met Fredric Fyld, an old man with gray hair and a scar on his eye. He seemed highly unimpressed with the Champions, but he told them he received orders to let them investigate in the Slums. Reluctantly he handed them over some details about the most recent cases, telling them to get out and keep their nose out of other peoples business.
