Pelagia is a teenage girl who was canonized by the temple of Dunia after showing incredible magical ability. She previously was the daughter of pig farmers from Othen. She is not well liked by the clergy or the nobility, but she is prominent with the peasants in the Basin. The clergy of Dunia pulled many strings to have her canonized because they believe she may be a vessel for the champion hood of the goddess Ibu, and more importantly to keep her away from the Sons of Dunia.
