The Fjellmen
(Ph-yell-men)
“Sentence.”— Name
Roughly translated to “mountain people” in Montese. This faction are various tribes of humans & other prominent humanoids that live in the Montagne Mountains. These people are descendants of the tribes of ages past that were not assimilated into the Kildare Tribe.
The Fjellmenn are actively shunned by the people of the Basin, seen as barbaric and primitive. This is largely due to their open worship of the Old Gods, among other cultural differences. Fjellmenn are often second class citizens of the Basin, and many are not even considered people legally within most Montese Settlements.
The people of the Mountains are in constant battle with the magma men in the western mountains, and are also the Basin’s first defense against the Rak’tor. The magma men have a fixation with a cliffside covered in gems rocks that the Fjellmenn consider a holy site. This cliffside is actually an unclaimed place of power.
