Google introduces a pocket holographic personal computer that can also be used as a cell phone. Called a Giga, the device is set up to have a holographic interface that can be used on any clean, flat surface. It is cheaper to buy outright than even adding a phone to a current plan.
Within a couple years, both Amazon and Apple release competing devices. With a decade, much more expensive 3D holographic projection systems become available for these portable devices. However, even through to the next century the flat projection devices stay the most popular.
