North America (circa 2162)

"Of course we have the follow the lead of the [European Union] when it comes to protecting the Great Lakes and the remaining aquifers with our allies south of our border. We've adjusted to the growing demands to many of these young nations by simply prioritizing Mother Nature first."
— Prime Minister Turner Fang of Canada, 2104.

Geography

Still stretched from the Atlantic to the Pacific, the current state of the United States of America is a somewhat gutted shell with its lines. Gaps and holes where new corporate nations have formed take over vast amounts of states. Currently the Great Lakes is mostly still surrounded by the nation, with narrows gaps due to the treaty with Canada causing many rushed nation-states to fall over the past century and a half. The Rocky Mountains, areas of the Pacific Northwest, the Southwest and some of the northern area of the Appalachians are protected due to the generous benefactors that bought land in order to donate it back to the government after the greed in the 2020s had passed. Canada and Mexico's landscape have changed little in comparison, thanks to changes in technology that have helped reduce waste and both having increased GDP as the United States have lost much of their political and economic power in 21st century.
Most of the nations that are based in the South and the former Rust Belt of America have been altered excessively in order to cater to the needs of the companies or other power centers. Read the description of these nations to see how the landscape has altered (still in progess as of the writing of this description)
The world has changed in a lot of other ways as well, with the global temperature having risen, and then finally fallen again back to an average of 56 degrees Fahrenheit. The seas levels are high enough that most of the shoreland is no longer prime real estate on the East coast of the Continent, and miles of shoreland was lost over the past century and was never regained.

Fauna & Flora

The flora and fauna of centuries past have mostly survived, and thanks to the scientific pursuits of the Department of the Interior in the beginning of the 22nd century, some formerly lost ecosystems have been able to return. Most of the changes and losses have happened in the areas within the new nations in the United States. For example, once TrumpLand took over the Florida Keys and the Everglades, the manatee population there has been rendered extinct in thanks to horrible waste management and no concern for the health of the surrounding ocean shore.

Natural Resources

All coal reserves located in the Eastern areas that are not manage by The U.S. or Canada have been completely depleted. Methane gas underneath the ocean floor has been tapped by parts of Coca-Cola Country, TrumpLand, Disney Nation and Mexico. The oil reserves in The U.S. and Canada are still there, but are largely untouched in accordance to the 2036 Strasbourg Accord, an amendment to the previous Paris Accord in order to have stricter regulation to protect the environment.
Despite the greed of many of the younger nations formed within the mainland of the U.S. most of the other natural resources available have stayed the same.
