Land of the Great Tree

This proud nation is centered on the Tree of the Omoikane, with it's capitol city being of the same namesake.

Architecture

Stone single and double story buildings are often built in a circular form. Common buildings use thatched roofs and tapestries for warmths against the stone walls.

Clothing and Culture

Women wear pleated leather skirts, with blouses showing large central patterns on the front and back. The Men wear felted fabric kilts with wild clashing geometric patterns. Both use Browns, Blacks, off white and indigo coloring in their clothing.   Dance and racing is a national pastime. Nearly every month there is some local race or dance. Pedestal boxes are used at these events, where stand the judge or dance caller of the event.

Festivals

The planting of biannual tubers in the fall is accompanied with a great festival where no one sleeps on the last night of planting. During this tuber start festival, the bonfires and dancing lights last all night and everyone wears their clothing inside out or backwards for good luck through the winter. Women officiate the various dances, competitions and maintaining the fires.   The Water Calm festival is held in the spring during the first full moon after the spring equinox. Often this time of year includes drifts of glowing jellyfish in the whole region. The swimming races are a special event where competitors race in only a loincloth and smeared with a blue tinged jelly that can prevent the worst jellyfish stings. This evening of races includes significant cooking of meats and early spring vegetables.

Demography and Population

A mix of elves, humans, and half-elves make the majority of the population.

Religion

The people largely revere the Omoikane who is a living deity. The clergy is tied to the Loremasters.

Education

Many people come from afar to studies in magic, to consult the libraries of the Loremasters, and to attend colleges that train in arts and crafts.
