The Shield Hills
The Shield Hills are located along the western border of the Henderent Plains. They are a rocky region plentiful in shaggy goats and hardy vegetation. Several mountains are included as part of this region including the Wano mountains and it's Dwarven city of Wano Dez. This is near the northern end of the Troll's teeth mountain range, and was at one time popular among dragons for game hunting.
Ecosystem
While on the surface the shield hills are a fairly common temperate hilly region. There are rare storms which deposit a black inky substance that rains down and kills vegetation over acres of terrain. Within a year they are back to flourishing but often exhibiting strange colors of vegetation which slowly fades over the subsequent months. Specimens of this strange vegetation is the interest of druids and arcane researchers, even better if they can observe these rare events.
Localized Phenomena
Several localized phenomena have been recognized in the region. A couple crystal grotto's and caves have been found in the region to exhibit strange powers and phenomena. Of note are the The Aspirant's Cave, the Dark Pools of Change, and the Weeping wall.
