The Secrets of Skyhorn Lighthouse

General Summary

The party arrived in Chapel Bay, and found the town in a foul mood. A storm had wracked the harbor for several days, putting a stop to commerce. What was worse, the beacon of the local lighthouse had gone dark, causing fear for incoming sailors.   The party accepted local captain Sheila Coppertree's offer to brave the storm and cross the bay to find out what had gone wrong. The captain was willing to let them use her own vessel, the Annabell Lee, and to split a reward offered by the local merchants' guild.   On the way to the lighthouse, they were attacked by huge water elementals. A wave that seemed like it had a face crashed over the ship, nearly capsizing it, and tried to wash the party overboard. Their thundering magics were effective, however, and they eventually made it to the lighthouse dock safely.   The dark clouds roiled above the lighthouse tower, rain falling heavily on the stone steps. Cautiously, they made their way up the slope to the doors, and peered in.   They saw strange men seated at a wooden table in the foyer. Their skin was smooth-scaled, like a fish's, and they had a long crest running from their foreheads to the base of their serpentine spines. They were arguing about how to lure the lighthouse-keeper out of hiding so they could eat him.   The party attacked, kicking in the door and rushing into melee. This proved a poor start, as the eelfolk channeled their natural electric current through the party's weapons! The party was able to quickly adjust their tactics, however, and the enemy soon fell, exploding in electric death throes.   These defeated, the party explored. They found a staircase up, which ended in a metal trapdoor that burned them when they touched it. A voice from above warned them to stay back, but after they convinced the lighthouse-keeper they were friendly, he opened it up.   Lucien, it turned out, had been hidden in the top of the lighthouse for three days, subsisting off of summoned food from his druidic magic. He explained to them that the eelfolk had stormed his lighthouse from below, trapping him in the top. He feared that they now controlled his family's precious heirloom - a bowl of Controlling Water Elementals. It was with this powerful artifact that the Skyhorns had guided ships safely through Chapel Bay's treacherous harbour for generations.   He gave the party directions into the secret passages below the lighthouse, and they eagerly set off to finish off the enemy. They had to swim through a submerged cave, however, and narrowly escaped some sharks that the eelfolk had brought along for protection! Upon reaching the pocket of air where the Bowl was, though, they were able to organize, and catch the remaining eelfolk by surprise.   It was a difficult battle, but in the end they slew the enemy, and brought Lucien down to restore his control over the elementals. With the sea no longer agitated, the storm calmed, and the party sailed speedily back to shore, carried on a smiling wave.

Notes

I cannot for the life of me remember who the characters were. I know that Vivian and Lachlan were in the game, and I think one other person. I know that someone played a wizard, and that the other two were martial characters, and that no one was playing a druid.
