Alaghôn
Alaghôn, the capital city of Turmish, is an ancient city that has seen its share of trials and tribulations over the years, ranging from the occupation by the blue dragon Anaglathos during the Reign of the Wyrm, to the sacking of the city from a power lich. Throughout all of this, Alaghôn survived as a trade center known as the "Throne of Turmish" in antiquity. It is more commonly referred to as "The Labyrinth City" now.
It is one of the oldest known cities in the Sea of Fallen Stars area. What likely started as a small city built and populated by various stone masons has been built upon over and over throughout the millennia by various different species, each of them adding their own concepts of architecture & design. Dwarves built over humans, who built over elves, who were built over by dwarves again, and so on over the millennia. This has created an enormous urban labyrinth with many thousands of passageways, hiding places, and vaults.
The bulk of the city has been left to ruin after a Lich invaded and attempted to conquer the city for itself a couple hundred years ago. The lich's whereabouts are unknown, and it many wonder if it is even still alive. Regardless, most of the people who live here stick to the outskirts of the city as the interior of the ruins have become extremely dangerous, and many have built a new settlement in the port.
Navigating the labyrinth has become nearly impossible, let alone attempting to map it. There are numerous creatures and monsters that have taken up residence deep in the labyrinth. Some children like to play on the outskirts of the labyrinth and play games in the ruins, while some adventurers travel deep into the ruins in search of forgotten treasure and/or artifacts.
