Ashe (Paul’s PC) and the Mirrored Order. The Order is based around gunpower/gunsmithing which was created primarily to defeat magic users. Sulfur is a prime component of gunpowder and is found in volcanic areas (just like obsidian). Each member in the Order works in service of the whole. They help with everything from trading, farming, harvesting obsidian, creating the black powder, gunsmith, etc. Maybe the Order/the regular folk (need a name for the civilians/what outsiders would call them) sell mirrors (precedent in the real world) made of obsidian or other items. Figure out if they as a society (who are known, although not to many) would have relationship-wise with other settlements, IE Dripstone, the Farm, etc. Is the Order ever for hire? Why would the Brothers/Sisters leave their home? If they are proficient in fighting magic users, then their numbers should be declining in tandem with the MU. Maybe as their use fighting magic users became less and less desired they would start taking other jobs, i.e. mercenary work, security escorts, etc. Maybe PC is upset to find out the reality of being a Brother in the current time, less glamorous, less honor, etc. NO CONTRACT KILLING, NO ASSASSINATIONS.
