Whamite Isles

A series of small islands in the southern Sea of Fallen Stars area. 110 years ago, the series of islands had nearly been deforested. The inhabitants of the largest island began experimenting with mixing botany and magic to try to figure out a way to quickly bring back the trees, and protect one of their few natural resources. After several small successes they attempted to reintroduce the Kelpie species of sentient seaweed, long extinct in the Realms, back to the sea. However, they didn't think to alter the Kelpie in any way, neglecting the Kelpie’s charm abilities.
The vast majority of the residents of the Isles were affected by the kelpies charm powers which caused many people to jump into the sea and drown. The corpses were quickly animated and turned into zombies, which after attacking their own people, turned their attention to several coastal cities for the next few years. Because of this, the surrounding coastal cities considered the Whamite Isles to be cursed, and avoided at all costs.
Currently, the island chain is currently under the control of Kuuzot and his clan.
