Communal Stone
A piece of Aspectrally charged crystal around which all magic using communities are formed. Often, they are called Community Stones. Their size scales proportional to the population's and the city's aspectral needs. Small villages, such as Deadpoint need only a sliver of a stone. Enormous metropolises, such as Pinedeck, require multiple stones set in concentric circles to support infrastructure.
All stones, including independent Tether Stones, are part of The Aspectral Weave and contribute to its ebb and flow. Balance and timing of energy cycles are important for maintaining the organized use of the magic throughout Heirbrosse, thus major Communal Stones play integral roles in managing the output/input for the surrounding area. Community hierarchy tends to flow outward from concentrated areas of power. These focal points must be managed properly, so that no one area becomes overconcentrated with Communal Stones. This requirement has led to deeply regulated practices around establishing communities, municipal governance, and trade.
The Mindtether
All Communal Stones that touch The Aspectral Weave are inherently linked to The Mindtether, a non-physical space wherein magic users can project almost any property of their consciousness and will. Control of these projections, their effectiveness and ability to influence others' (i.e. communication capacity) are also tightly regulated and monitored by authorities to prevent abuse.
Waterways
All active Keynode and Ringnode cities contain huge Communal and Tether Stone networks that enable sustained instant transportation between nodal neighbours. This Culdurian technology takes enormous amounts of energy, but most governing bodies in Heirbrosse agree that the trade and economic benefit it provides is worth this cost. There are some, however, that suspect faults with this system may have been responsible for the Birth of the Boil, a Roythan catastrophe that killed two Keynode cities and rendered much of the northeast landmass inhabitable by those reliant on magical means.
