Discontinuum English

A form of English which is used by the Stability Council and is close enough to the forms spoken on Earth Zero (including the root version) to be understood there.
Discontinuum English unites a number of different realms and became an official language for debate and the fostering of relations between Agents and benign Powers because it did not symbolise or represent any of the competing political factions at play within the local realms. Since Earth Zero is the most stable of the accessible realms, it makes a certain amount of sense to use standards and languages from there as a basis for communication.
The illustration at the head of the article shows the "Great Debate of Alacroxin VI", one of the more difficult meetings conducted by the Stability Council, but typical of many where all speech and written accounts used Discontinuum English.
