High Seat of the King

The High Seat of the King was the capital of the Fey Court in the Age of the First Wars and at the beginning of the Age of Lost Memory. The First King of the Fey, Dovrim Lauram, ordered it to be built on the top of the Binding Rock at the centre of Tân y Gwanwyn and it was the centre of fey power for many cenuries thereafter. All the kings and queens with articles linked below (and more not listed) ruled from this castle complex.
Although it was never conquered, in the Age of Lost Memory, the fey chose to abandon the High Seat and make their new capital at Shaldarenen. It was Queen Efeomo who was the last to rule from here and also the first to rule from Shaldarenen, for reasons explained in the article concerning the changes to the rules of succession of fey Kings and Queens.
The High Seat of the King has long fallen into ruin and now only Hen Tŵr Gwyn, the Old White Tower, remains standing, used as a prison by Queen Mab.
