Jix
The Jix are the original tribal group who dwelt in the area now called the Kingdom of Han from a time long before records began. They gave their name to the Jixelle river. When the Han moved into the region, the Jix were displaced from some of their former lands and moved towards the west and south. The Jix are specialists in fishing on the rivers and on the sea. They are the smallest of the groups that form the modern kingdom, accounting for only about ten percent of the population.

Foods & Cuisine
Jixian influenced cuisine makes great use of fish, both fresh and salt water varieties, shellfish and the herbs found on the banks of the Jixelle and Lotus rivers. Jixan Fire Chowder is a favorite dish, often found on the menus of Hanjing restaurants, prepared by Jixian cooks.
