The Chantry also believes that long ago, a dragon of blazing starlight absorbed the sun's energy shrouding the solar system in darkness. They believe that their god, a giant silver dragon named Selune battled this Sun Dragon until it was gravely wounded and fled to The Frozen Sea. Selune rested on a nearby moon, imbuing it with her essence, thus creating Lyrium.  The Cult of Blazing Starlight worships the dragon Xaryxis and believe its flames will cleanse the world of sin when it returns to Kios.

They take inspirations from the Chant of Light, specifically when it refers to The Battle of Celestial Bodies

The cult seems to only want to spread their gospel to other so they can be saved.
