Spite, The Demon Dog

Spite is one of the many Lesser Demons among Zalthor's legions. To better deal with the burning light of The Dragonstar, Spite was summoned in a ritual that allowed him to take on the form of a physical dog. Vareena, The Warlock, has charged Spite with following and observing Ambroze. The Vampire's questionable loyalty is always under scrutiny and his actions of late have been suspicious.

Spite is an excellent tracker. He assists Ambroze as the two stalk Ember and Alikaine. Spite and Ambroze have an antagonistic but occasionally cooperative relationship. When their goals align, they work together.

Demonic Powers

Shadow Vision - This is the same ability to see in the dark that Goblins and those suffering from Vampirism have. Bright sunlight and fire greatly impair sight for those gifted with Shadow Vision. The Ashen Eclipse and The Infernal Deluge have made this drawback less important.

Demonic Guise - Spite can take on a demonic guise, giving him a surreal form with evil glowing red eyes and a malicious presence. He uses this form to intimidate and instill fear.

Death Bite - While partially incorporeal, Spite's Teeth bite more deeply into flesh. They encounter less physical resistance and the resulting wound penetrates farther into the victim than an ordinary dog bite would.

I love all the names!

Check out Natural Magic : a coming of age fantasy novel, because life is hard enough when you're fourteen, even without saving the world. Or listen to it in podcast form .

Thanks, Molly! I didn't want Spite to seem tooooooo evil. I want folks to like him a bit. Sometimes. :)

I've had his photo and I've been thinking about Spite since they announced the Treasured Companions. I knew he'd fit better into Spooktober though. He's going to be so much fun to write. :)
