The Ashen Eclipse and The Infernal Deluge

The Surprise Attack

Zalthor, The Demonlord, sent frozen rocks from The Void's Edge to the peaceful world of Akir through a massive portal summoned into the night sky by Vareena, The Warlock. The impacts resulted in local shock-wave damage, widespread fires, and a drastic darkening of the skies now laden with ash. The Dragonstar's light is greatly muted and the moon is practically invisible. The night sky is now devoid of stars.

Great Losses

In the months following, torrential storms rained down upon Akir, raising the water levels to cause flooding in all but the highest elevations. Many flash floods occurred throughout the world as both natural dams and constructed levees broke. Countless lives were lost to the waters. The region near The Ironfang Mountains is one of the few landmasses to remain above the new sea level.

Lean Times

In a short span of time, Akir has gone from a nearly idyllic world far from the conflicts of The Serpent and Shadows War to a desolate and hopeless place beset upon by Demons. Without The Light of The Dragonstar, the world of Akir is now vulnerable to more attacks. Plants are dying and the wildlife suffers. The surviving people struggle to secure the nutritional resources they need. Day-to-day existence is considerably more difficult now.

Losing The War

Throughout The Dragonstar System, scholars and leaders worry over Akir's destruction. They grapple with the notion that the shadow demons may win The Serpent and Shadows War. If a world in The Inner System can be so thoroughly destroyed, is there any hope for the other worlds?
Let us destroy all that the mortals have built and break their hearts so thoroughly that The Dreamer weeps from the pain.
