Dream Stopper
Dream stoppers are devices warn mainly by government officials in larger cities to prevent potentially hazardous dreams. They are the precursors to the dream catchers. They come in two forms: helmet and antenna. Helmet dream stoppers fit over the entire head. Antenna dream stoppers use a specialized pad to stick to the side of the head (or elsewhere on the body if a head is not present or is too rough or irregular of a surface for it to stick).
Both forms work in the same way--they detect brain activity and jolt the user awake before dreaming can begin. Because this means that the user gets less quality rest, most users make up for it by staying in bed longer.
