Kerodats
Kerodats are rare creatures that occasionally stalk the night sky. They wander the skies in search of something visible and swoop in, eating and consuming it. These creatures have been known to engage Humans from time to time, so it is important to stay out of sight during the night whilst in an open field, or close to a fire. They typically prey, if not on animals, then on Goblins, so they can be a nice sight if in an ambush.
Kerodats look very similar to a purple bird, but with a stranger skeletal structure and metal tips on half of the appendages. They also have a pair of bat wings on their head that they likely use for stability.
They typically reside around Kerbia or the badlands, or even Gertrudia. The reason that they are in Kerbia is because of nests in the Erestrian mountains, but typically avoid going over the mountains because of Goblins hunting and eating them. They are said to have a certain magical connection, but this typically is considered a myth, as there is no evidence of such things.
The metal on their beaks and claws are used to great ability, as they are quite easy to strike with and sink into the flesh with. Quite versatile tools, they have snagged a great many Human and a great many Goblin.
