Bloody Clovers
Structure
The Bloody Clovers operate similarly to the Knights of the Round Table. Although Rory is the de-facto leader who helps make final decisions and originally banded them together, they all treat one another as equal partners in the gang's financial and social climb to the top. It is one reason why the gang usually travels and operates together, communicating in tandem with one another before making any serious business decisions.
Culture
Rory and his gang are more like family than anyone else, mostly because there are only twenty people in the BCs. Instead of recruiting members or chasing after leprechauns for wishes, Rory believes in having a tight knit circle of people he can trust with his life, even if his luck saves it most times. This tight knit group allows for each member to be treated as an equal, telling one another their troubles, drinking almost every day and spending unfathomable amounts of money to deal with their losses. Another trait that binds most of the group together is tragedy, with every member having personally experienced The Troubles and most of them having been there on the fateful Bloody Sunday. It is through this tragedy that they believe fate united them and gave them the luck to see their lives turn around, a deserved gift from the powers that be. Despite their somewhat sophomoric nature, the BCs fully believe that everyone deserves peace and have pre-emptively refused to take part in any gang wars or uprisings unless absolutely forced to. However, when their hand is forced, they are the most violent gang in Old Town and have more than a few murders to their name. To them, gold looks much better than blood but they'll wear it if they have to and they'll look good doing it.
Public Agenda
The Bloody Clovers are seen, at worst, as conmen who want to take every dollar Apollo City tourists can afford to spend. However, even with their rampant reputation as untrustworthy shysters, Rory's uncanny luck lets him talk his way into people's wallets and draw even the most doubtful in --- giving him the benefit of the doubt. Rory's luck, as well as the luck of his gang in effect, have become so magnetic, that APD has been legally handcuffed in what they can charge them with. In every instance, Rory and his gang have found legal loopholes, charmed the judge and even successfully paid off even the most loyal APD officers to forget the situation even happened. In the underground, Rory and his gang have not only gone virtually undefeated in gambling challenges and games but also gang warfare. No matter how impossible the chances are that Rory and his crew could win, luck finds a way for them to eke by with a clear victory every time. This has led to the gangs offering a truce that The Bloody Clovers can control the gambling and gaming establishments of Old Town without any interference, at least until they find a way to make the BCs luck run out.
Assets
Almost every single casino and gambling establishment in Old Town is under the control of The Bloody Clovers. Through these businesses, the BCs create a perpetual flow of money that rivals even that of the Nosferatu Boys, going so far as to lure in Apollo City tourists and bleed them dry before they leave. Their greatest asset, however, is the massive amount of gold they keep locked away in what they call Goldhenge. Rumors have spread about The BCs spending hundreds of millions of dollars just to ensure that Goldhenge is not only undetectable but highly guarded from even the APD's special forces. However, many believe that Goldhenge is a myth, especially since the only fact floated around that has been partially confirmed is that the amount of gold hidden in the safe amounts to approximately one-hundred billion dollars.
History
The Bloody Clovers started with a man named Cillian Doyle, father of the current leader Rory Doyle. On April 15th of 1916, Cillian fought against British rule in the Easter Rebellion, joining the ranks of the Irish Citizens Army. After a few days or helping defend the Galway Bay, Cillian was grievously wounded by British artillery, only surviving due to the succeeding gunfire hitting those that fought with him before they could tag him on the shore. Cillian ran through a massacre-in-progress, trying to keep from bleeding out as he tried to make it out of the immediate battle zone. It was only after he felt as though he would collapse to his death that the clouds parted and revealed a rainbow, the end of which ended on the other side of the Bay. Driven either by delirium or the innate determination that a new life waited for him at the end of the rainbow, Cillian maneuvered around bodies and chunks of broken Earth before spotting a leprechaun.
After a period of eye rubbing and heavy breathing, Cillian ran faster than he ever could, fueled by a sudden burst of dopamine. He cast aside any possibility that the little man in green could be a product of him passing over and tackled the leprechaun, face bloody and crazed. Instead of simply catching the leprechaun, Cillian started to choke him, threatening that he "better be real". Unfortunately, Cillian was only able to request one wish, that he lived long enough to see Ireland at peace, before falling into unconsciousness. Cillian woke in a hospital a week later with his wounds miraculously healed and memory of the leprechaun completely gone. For years, he lived through Ireland's troubles, believing himself to have the stereotypical luck of the Irish when, in actuality, it was the blood of the leprechaun extending his life. It wasn't until the Good Friday Agreement in April 1998 that Cillian's wounds of his youth became fresh once more, forcing him to rapidly bleed out in front of a teenage Rory in his living room. As his father was being taken away, he snatched the four-leaf clover pin from his suspenders and kept the blood spattered accessory as a sign of their family's resilience.
With his mother passing from an unknown disease and his father gruesomely dying before his eyes, Rory took to the streets. Amidst petty skirmishes and attempted thefts, Rory came to realize that his luck was unnaturally good. Not only could the police rarely catch him but, whenever they did, he was always released on a technicality. Rory took full advantage of this change in luck and formed a gang based off of his father's bloody pin, saying the the luck of his family would make sure his gang would be the toughest in the land. It wasn't until he himself ran across a leprechaun years later that he learned that the cause for both his uncanny luck and his mother's strange death stemmed from the tainted DNA of the leprechaun that extended his father's life. He explained to Rory that all leprechauns, and all those who carry their blood, must be male and that their blood is toxic to females. Though, instead of asking for any sort of rectifying wish, Rory asked the leprechaun to tell him where he and his gang can really test their luck and find great riches. The leprechaun informed him of the Elysium Archipelago that had formed just a year earlier, leaving Old Town to the luck of the Irish.
