Hepaestus' Keep

A smith shop that allows warriors, smiths and mystic welders to create all sorts of weaponry and items without damaging or destroying the world around them. It is blessed by Hepaestus to allow for everything within to be self-contained, creating the perfect “warrior’s laboratory”, so to speak. It is perpetually illuminated by flames that lap at the reinforced walls, allowing a barbaric yet efficient illuminated atmosphere.

Purpose / Function

To act as a master forge for warriors and heroes of light.

Architecture

As soon as one walks into the forge, heat and humidity becomes commonplace. The temperature itself is a test for those who wish to forge the weapons of their mind, warding off any who can't take the intense sauna that perpetuates the place. This is part of Haphaestus' blessing that keeps the forge out of the hands of those against the gods. In this place, the floor truly is lava, stretching from one end of the huge chamber to the next with every platform hoisted up by chains forged by the gods to be unbreakable. There are various forge stations, all held up by the enormous chains that extend to the dark void covering the ceiling. Some believe that there is an actual creature spanning the enormous roof that is connected to the chains themselves, as some visiting warriors have heard ragged breaths and seen the chains jostle about very slightly on their own accord.

History

The Keep was formed outside of Sinister Maharana's initial desire, just like the rest of the Kingdom. However, the forge itself didn't become active until three days after the kingdom's creation, suddenly blazing with the fires of the god overnight. Though many pictures have been taken of the outside of the forge, few could even make it inside without suffocating, dying of heat stroke or, most terrible, falling into the pool of lava beneath the suspended forges. Over the years, it has been used to create impossibly powerful weapons for the purpose of extinguishing evil and bringing glory to the Pantheon. However, none have discovered who, or what, is beyond the dark void of the ceiling and what the enormous chains are attached to.
