CALWEL was the 3rd son of Orinine Doirnín but the only male child to reach adulthood. His is a tragic tale that ended the family line forever. The summer before being knighted he returned home. Over the next few weeks, he became obsessed with a serving maid and took her by force. She became pregnant by his actions and died delivering his son, Taith. Appalled at the consequences of his actions, the passionate young man entered cloisters and swore himself to a life of monastic contemplation.
His child was raised in his sister's household as her heir. None of her children had made it past their tenth birthday. Taith was a vibrant child but that did nothing when the sickness came for him in -110 BL.
After the Giantswar and the death of his niece, Eorlsa Somareya King Uryas approached him about reentering the mundane life as the only living heir of Doirnín--yet Calwel refused. The family had endured under the Curse long enough, he confessed, and resolved to never leave the monastery until he was buried in its plot. And so it came to be.
