Ondren Solyr

Ondren Solyr

Ondren's father spent six days and nights with his bride before leaving on the Queen's Crusade. His mother, Ginayne Solyr, was deeply affected by the disappearance of the Crusade and turned to alcohol and narcotics. Ondren's elders tried to straighten him out but it was too late. Ondren stumbled through life in a haze and he was quite lucky to have found love with a younger member of a small Aenarian noble family while fleeing his birthplace and seat. While Ondren struggled, for love, to defeat his addictions especially after the birth of his daughter; Ranaea Solyr. While he would occasionally fall into depressions that ended in a drinking binge, his daughter was the center of his life when he was sober.

The prospect of winning back his family's lands was all-consuming and he was part of the Battle of Redwine Ford which saw the Eorl's defeat and flight into the Aenwold. Unfortunately, there was a significant amount of politicking as Ondren sought to reclaim his lands. His reputation as a drunkard worked against him and one of the liberating lords, Lord Highbrook, was seeking to reward one of his followers, a mercenary knight, with a portion of the lands. Ondren spent nearly nine years seeking support against the other claims but everyone was too consumed with current events to heed a has-been family.

In 42 ET, Ondren had secured a Church note to occupy a portion of the lands while further discussion was on-going. He sent off for his family and began preparing to administer the small cluster of families that were still occupants of the land. Three weeks later, the Blackswan emerged from the Aenwold and attacked. Ondren was slain fighting alone, half-drunk, against a dozen Aenwold brigands. His body was discovered by his wife and his 15 year old daughter, Ranaea Solyr.
