Hemeria Travels To Naeronel And Is Wronged By Vemoryn

Hemeria leaves Rhuanon to his wars and hoped-for crown. She comes to this decision after resolving to face Naeras and declare her long-hidden love for him for she has come to miss him these past years.

Vemoryn, ever alert to the happenings of the land, learns of Hemeria's approach and interrupts at the gates of Naeronel. She is persuaded to share a drink with her old friend before speaking with Naeras who, Vemoryn claims, is busy with an important matter. Vemoryn drugs Hemeria and takes advantage of her to slake his own feelings for her.

Outraged at her betrayal of her love for Naeras, Hemeria wakes in the morning and flees the Midlands in grief and shame.
