The Crown Commission
The Crown Commission, founded in Port Oliver by Alvar Birg are an organisation who works on behalf of the The Royal Council to collect the taxes and revenues required by the crown.
they are referred to as "The Fingers" by the common folk due to them taking gold straight from the pockets of the common people.
Though they pose as mere collectors, they have a strong military unit behind them to enforce their mandate.
They also act as the personal security for Prime Minister Birg and his family.
In 1110 and new law was passed called "The Rite of Pacification". This rite gives Commissioners the right to make a decision if a person, settlement or area are not complying with the law and the only solution is a more violent approach in order to quell any insurgence or resistance. Over the past few years since The Resistance begun to appear, the rite has been used more freely, with no authorisation from The Royal Council needed to carry out the rite as previously needed.
Structure
The Prime Minister heads up the Crown Commission but the day to day activities are managed by each individual commissioner for their own region in the kingdom. Most of the Commissioners reside in the regions great city along side the Great Lord they work with to ensure the crown's dues are paid to them.
