Otonomoi
The Sandborn. Light-veins. The Glass Hearts.
Human in form, but not counted amongst their numbers.
On the surface and when uninjured, we are identical to humans bar the lines of light that follow the lines of our bodies. Following the spine, across the chess, and down the arms and legs, creating flowing patterns that branch out from those arteries of light that respond in small ways to our emotions.
the true differences arise when you look beneath the skin. Even the smallest cut reveals we are made from colored glass. Many colors make up the glass of the Otonomoi form, with little rhyme or reason to the color, but they are all there.
Dig a little deeper, and you'll find glass organs, hearts and lungs, all hung upon stone bones.
While the Otonomoi can both sustain more damage than a human, as well as remain functional under greater damage, they lack the capacity to heal on their own. Their cracks and shattered limbs will remain gone unless aid is garnered from a Human or Glasscutter .
While Otoi don't have blood in the same way that Humans do, but we do have an internal fluid that tends to splatter and release when we suffer wounds.
It is a luminous substance and losing it can cause us to die if we have already suffered terrible wounds, but losing much of it while healthy does not seem to harm us in any notable fashion.
