Corellon, The Archeart
Deity, Core Pantheon
Corellon is the patron deity of all Elves , being the creator of elvenkind in their image. They are also the god of elven magic.
Description
Corellon is commonly depicted as an impossibly graceful and beautiful elven being. They are androgynous and alluring, with long golden hair. Many early elven art pieces were inspired by the Archeart, and elements of their visage or symbol can be found in most elven architecture. Corellon is a master fighter, often depicted with either a longsword or longbow, as well as a powerful arcanist using spells both arcane and druidic.Activities
Corellon is the primary deity of the elves, and as such they lend power and faith to many followers. Their primary duty is in protecting elven civilisation and culture, ensuring it is preserved and guarded through the use of Mythal's. Elven groves receive the Archeart's blessing and crops will always find fertile land in one. Corellon also would walk amongst the mortal planes when they had the ability to before the Cataclysm. Now they watch lovingly over the land they helped preserve and create.History
Corellon is as old as mortal life, as they were once of the Deities who were responsible for it during the Days of the Divines. Elves were created among the other races that inhabited the earliest form of the Everplanes. As The Weave was beginning to be understood by mortals, it was found that elven blood could wield it to be more powerful and more chaotic than humans or other races. Corellon helped tame these wild magics while allowing many devoted priests and arcanists to still wield the weave at its maximum potential. Mythal's were created during this time which allowed elvenkind to flourish. Corellon was not alone in influencing the elves of the Everplanes. Their partner, Lolth strived for perfection among elvenkind, tempting female elves in with this ideal. Their son, Vhaeraun fought against his mother, while his sister Eilistraee provided sanctuary for elves influenced by Lolth. This sparked The War of the Seldarine where Corellon banished all three of the other elven deities from the Core Pantheon. The aftermath of this battle created the Dark Elves. When the Divine War broke out, The Archeart protected the surface elves from the attacks of the Dark Elves, growing denser forests and inspiring Mythal's to hide kingdoms. Ioun sought help from Corellon to end the Divine War. Using Ioun's knowledge and Corellon's elven magic, the Divine Mythal was cast through numerous ritual sites across the Everplanes.Worshippers
Corellon's primary worshippers were of elven descent, though not all were. Many other races would pay tribute to The Archeart when involved in the practice of art and elven culture. Corellon was worshiped at natural geological formations with beautiful objects sacrificed to him monthly on the 10th, with the most notable day being Elvendawn on Jules 10th.Beliefs
While Corellon's perceived gender is ambiguous, in some cultures it is depicted as definitively masculine or feminine. While the orcs deny it, Corellon was said to have cut out one of Gruumsh’s eyes.Tenets
