The Divine War

The divine war was the period leading into the Age of Mortality. It was a conflict that took place between both deities and mortal followers and chosens of these deities.
It resulted in The Cataclysm, an event that sealed all deities behind the Divine Lattice for the protection of mortals going forward.

Events

The divine war was a battle waged in most corners of the Everplanes. As such, a lot of events were disconnected but all led to the eventual outcome of The Cataclysm.
The below events are in semi-chronological order.

The Genesis Eclipse

After centuries of plotting and arcane practice, Shar attempted to destroy Pelor. Seeing this, Selune protected Pelor by causing a Solar Eclipse, putting herself in the face of Shar's assault. This rekindled their eternal battle.
The eclipse lasted for several days visible in parts of eastern Forthal and the .
Many aberrant creatures were drawn to such a phenomenon, which drew Avacyn's attention.
Harsh tidal patterns unintentionally rallied followers of Talos.

Assault on the Great Garden

Although Chauntea did not participate in the Divine War, she was at the hands of an attack by Zehir and his followers. This coincided with The Genesis Eclipse, leaving Chauntea vulnerable while her protectors Selune and Pelor were occupied.
Zehir managed to gravely wounded Chauntea with a terrible disease. She escaped with her life, and over the following years Pelor nursed her back to health.
During this recovering period, disease and famine struck the farms of the Everplanes, heightened by physical acts of destruction by Zehir's followers.
