The Myst

Surrounding the Realm of the Fae is a wall of mist. It has never been traversed nor explored but is accepted as the gateway to the After by the Fae.
The mist is impenetrable for one very simple reason. When a ship travels through the mist they emerge on the other side of the map. No ship has ever been inside the Myst for more than 1 minute.
Fae that have recovered from near death experiences or have been recovered from dying have all reported walking through mist. There are also been recordings of some of those Fae mentioning they walked on water through the mist as well.
Deceased Fae summoned through necromancy or seances have also reported similar experiences but will never give details beyond walking through fog.

Geography

The Myst is a wall of mist and fog that lies over the seas at the edge of the Fae Realm. It covers no landmass, only open sea. Traversing it will send the traveller across the map to the opposite side of the Realm. For example, a ship entering the Myst from the South will emerge less than a minute later from the North.

Ecosystem

There is no life that has ever been recorded living within the Myst and most wild beasts and aquatic creatures seem to avoid it.

History

There have been many attempts to traverse the Myst and all have failed. All 4 Fae Courts have sent innumerous ships and fleets with the goal to penetrate the Myst but none succeeded. The Blood Folk especially made more attempts than others. Eventually the failures prompted the courts to halt their attempts. Now the only people to continue to enter the Myst are the most daring pirate ships of the Blood Folk who use it as a fast travel across the Realm.
