Pixie
Pixies are the "dark" counterpart to fairies: more mischievous, less reliable, and overall less morally driven. They're in between fairies and imps in terms of moral alignment. Pixies can be identified by their sharper wing shapes and blue or purple-tinted skin. Whereas fairies have wings in a gently sloping half-moon shape or something of the sort, pixie wings are sharp and triangular. Also, pixies bite. Pixies are incapable of powerful magic, just like fairies.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Pixies, are for the most part, anatomically similar to fairies, but have sharper wing shapes, and blue-tinted skin. Their teeth are also pointed.
Biological Traits
Pixies do not age, and if nothing were to threaten them, they could potentially live forever. They are prey of larger animals, however, such as cats, birds, drakes, snakes, goblins, slimes, hellhounds, and dipsas. However, they're smart enough to avoid most predators, and the life expectancy of a typical pixie is anywhere from one hundred to three hundred years.
Ecology and Habitats
Pixies tend to live in heavily forested areas, abandoned buildings, swamps, and other dark and secluded areas.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Pixies are omnivores, and have no particular food preference.
As an aside, there are several foods and drinks which have a significant impact on either a fairy's psychology or their magical abilities.
- Tea, of any kind, is essentially a powerful sedative or hypnotic for a pixie, lulling them into a deep sleep with just a few mouthfuls. Chamomile tea is enough to put them into a slumber that lasts weeks.
- Processed sugars, such as those found in candy or chocolate, have a bizarre effect on a pixie's decision making skills and magical ability. More details can be found further on in this article.
- Coffee, or any caffeine, is a potent psychedelic and hallucinogenic substance for pixies, sending them on "trips" that can be very intense and possibly cause the fairy short-term or even permanent psychological trauma. Giving a pixie caffeine is therefore not advised.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
- Confusion Inducement: Pixie bites can cause an individual to become confused, act drunk, and/or develop amnesia. These symptoms go away within a few minutes with the proper anti-venom.
- Fever Inducement: Pixie bites can also cause someone to develop a dangerously high fever. This will not go away with time and mush be treated as soon as possible.
- Hallucination Inducement: Pixie bites can cause someone to experience any manner of different hallucinations.
- Inhibition Release and Sugar Empowerment: When given processed sugars, like those found in candy or chocolate, it causes pixies to lose their inhibitions and become more excitable. This results in impaired decision-making skills and general lack of better judgement. Additionally, these processed sugars can multiply a pixie's magical ability by up to ten times what they are normally capable of. The effect is multiplicative, so the more sweets a fairy has, the more dangerous they become.
- Magic Detection: Like their lighter counterparts, pixies are excellent at detecting magic, surpassed by only angels and dragons. The trouble is, given their nature, they are unhelpful in actually warning someone about potential magical threats. Even if they can see that a dangerous spell or trap is about to activate, they will give no hints about having seen it.
- Weak Magic: Pixies are capable of magic, but only to a certain extent. They cannot perform large, complex, or powerful spells individually.

Beauty Ideals
In addition to human beauty ideals, wing intricacy or shape can be considered beautiful.
Average Technological Level
Pixies can make rudimentary inventions out of whatever they find. Leaves, twigs, nuts, some loose string...nothing spectacular, but enough to make some simple machines.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Pixies are not well-respected by most races, though dark elves, cecaelia, and the inhabitants of Hell find them to be just fine, often doing trade or making friendships with them.
