The Gods
The Pantheon of the Gods (Communi Deos)
As the elements formed the world. As time fell into the cadence. As the Aether spread and surged throughout the multiverse. In one of these infinite realities during the Quintus Epocha the gods, known collectively in the prevailing Common Dannoran as the Commini Deos, have observed creation from their eternal thrones for over four centuries. Yes, there still are a few longer-lived mortals around who remember the days when the gods walked amongst them, however, enough time has passed for the younger mortals to forget what it was like when the gods stopped living in the world. The majority of immortals departed to the Celestial Realms at the conclusion of The Godswar. The growth of regional and species belief systems rising up to fill the void left by the divine powers to fracture the pantheon from outside has not occurred, something the gods themselves feared their leaving would result in. In every revolution that succeeds there remain those who dissent. Notable additional deific powers and religious traditions have arisen, but they have not forgotten where they came from and exist within the Commini Deos. Separate and apart but still honoring, for the most part, older divine powers widely venerated throughout the mortal world within the pantheon. Exceptions to this perfect harmony of the faithful come from those who began to spread and blossom into full nationhood, even empires, after the departure of the gods. The Thirteen Houses of the Aelfaeyr, the Seven Grilf Clans, the Orqui Horde, and the Kaen Hobbledehoy that grew out of the triumphant mortal races of the previous age's most defining conflict, The Godswar, have all emerged by elevating their own set of powers they petition within the framework of the pantheon. Human Ffolk generally remain true to the more traditional veneration of the King of the Gods though individuals freely worship any member of his celestial court. Those who have fallen claim the clarion call to practice their cultish chaos in opposition to the established order worshiping relatively unknown beings, pursuing unhealthy philosophies or serving immortals deemed too dangerous to petition by most sane common mortals. Veneration of these powers within the Known Realms has largely been pushed underground, but the more infamous cults persist in following the Lords of the Nine, pursuing the deification of the Elemental Princes, serving the whims of Abyssal Lords, and joining the efforts of the Cultus Draconis; the Dragon Cult of Tiamet.Deity or Power sorted by Moral Alignment
