The Archives of Parimon

In the North of Ethigoviel, beyond the ancestral mounds of the first men and the native lands of the mountain men, deep within the halls of Parimon exists the Druidibus Proditum Archive, the great Library of the Druids. Positioned beyond the Druid's Keep of Mount Parimon atop the apex courtyard of the Druidhold itself sits a large but unassuming granite building which peers out over the Elderpeaks looking down upon Dawntreader Pass: The Archives of Paramore. Thats where you will find the weapon you seek, and the knowledge to face the demons to come.
— The Great Druid's advice to Aristera's Adventurers on Minmay 6th, 436 C.E.
Within the walls of the Archive of Parimon are rumored to exist singular works and unique manuscripts comprising some of the greatest works of knowledge in all the five realms. The library building as it remains now is a mixed constructed of old stone quarried over a millennia ago during the previous age when the gods walked alongside the mortal kin who built it and newer, though still centuries old, construction of equal skill but newer stonework to repair the damage it sustained at the conclusion of the Godswar. Today it is a guarded location with a select few given permission to access the archive each year and fewer still with the skills to be enlightened by the knowledge of the works within.

History

According to the ancient accounts found within The Library of the Druids, the true history of the world is far different than what is known throughout the rest of the five realms. The holdfast within Mount Parimon, among the highest and grandest found in the Elderpeaks today, was first used at the end of Tertium Epocha, the Third Age, as a sanctuary of the first men.   For ten thousand years it became the hub of what remained of the survivors from that time. During those days Dawntreader Pass was a hard packed highway that wound through the mountains to the fertile fields and fishing villages below in one of the only pristine valleys remaining after the cataclysm. By the fourth century of the fifth age, these lands would be covered in thick ice and snow called The Bleeding Fields. With the return of the gods in the Quartus Epocha the first men retreated and remained hidden, undetected for a time, deep within their mountain fortress. But even this would change when the Elder God Tharozadaur sought dominion over the lands of the world releasing the Aether upon the world. The other Elder Gods battled Tharozadaur, and taking much of their combined might and power, imprisoned the Cosmic Aberration. As the Elder Gods celebrated their victory over The Chained One, who was now called the Eye of Evil by the first men, the machinations of its true plan came to fruition. One old oral story that was eventually written down told that for those who did not make it back to hide in the mountain,
The Eye of Evil had burned the sky and set fire to the bones of all first men from babe to crone and from woman to the man. The fortunate died a quick merciful death. Many would have their lives prolonged only to die horribly disfigured or their minds and bodies torturously warped into things no longer recognizable as human beings. For a handful of survivors, the fever would disappear leaving them not immortal but extremely long-lived.
The record goes on to call the authors of the work the Partefinis Longaeva or Long Telomeres, some of whom recorded relatives living for over five thousand years. The actions of transforming those first men and women that remained into semi-immortals would continue through their children until the first men were no more.   Humankind, along with the other mortal species would not return until the end of the fourth age, and when they did it sparked the conflict between the new gods and the diminished Elder Gods now known as The Godswar. By the end of the Godswar devistation would come at the hands of the forces of the Chaos Bringer and much of the Library along with a good section of the main buildings would be destroyed. Out of the end of that conflict, a new age would come upon the defenders of the Druidhold. One where they would return to being stewards of the land rather than just defenders of it.   The The Druid's Keep emerged from atop the apex of the mountain by the forces of nature and mortals. They would add to it a courtyard of sorts to sit the Druidhold itself and the Library proper with two large but unassuming granite building peering out over Dawntreader Pass. The Archives of Paramore would collect the works found within the older structures and the underground complex that had survived. Many of the works have been copied by hand down through time but there exists scrolls, tablets, and etchings of unfathomable ages as well. Most are barely decipherable now, and many original records use a sort of technological magic long forgotten.
