Sakuchi
The largest city in the Ten Provinces, Sakuchi is ruled by the Nakatomi Clan. It is the capital city of Washū Province.
The city is divided into two parts: the grand, walled new city carefully constucted by the wealthy around Sakuchi Castle; and Old Sakuchi, a dense village beside the docks.
Demographics
Although The Golden Cape was the capital of Jū-kinai, Sakuchi has long been the largest settlement in the Ten Provinces. Fishing in the bountiful Fuchi Bay has been the primary industry for centuries. As the city grew, so too did its attraction to merchants and traders, creating thriving commerce centre. A large market district can be found inside the city's southern gate.
Within the walls of the new city live those of immense wealth and miliary power, including powerful generals and officials, many who fled the Golden Cape after the assassination of Kinoshita no Akihiko. Meanwhile, Old Sakuchi is home to fishermen, dock workers, and migrants from across the nations seeking prosperity.
Geography
The city sits on the east bank of the Kaede estuary, on the coast of Fuchi Bay.
