Session 16: Report
General Summary
The group traveled out of Moortown and made their way towards the ruins of Kond. Following along the river they made their way into a "ravine" of sorts; the river continued on as the dirt and mud walls rose above them 150 or so feet. Keeping along the south side of the river, keeping an eye out for any movement or sounds that were out of place, they arrived at the stone walls of Kond.
Adara sent Pig to scout out the city and get a good look at how it was laid out. A flicker of blue light grabbed the attention of Adara and Grygor, and Kiran followed Grygor to inspect where the light came from. A small blue light approached them and then took on the form of a spectral butler. Telepathically he communicated with Kiran and told him his name was Geralt and he was the caretaker of Castle Kond. He offered a tour of the Castle to the group and they agreed to follow.
Using a Teleportation circle, Geralt lead the group to the large stone pillar that housed the castle. Leading them up to the base of the tower, Geralt offered an entryway into the Castle. Upon passing through the door that appeared in the base of the tower, they walked into an extraordinarily furnished circular entryway with a beautiful stylized mural painted on the ceiling. The diamond chandelier that dangled above them refracted light off towards the stained glass windows that dotted the walls.
A split stairway was before them that lead above to a landing and a set of large doors. Enthralled by the softness and comfort of the red carpet laid before them, everyone, except Adara who had casted Protection from Good and Evil, was absolutely boggled with how amazing the carpet is. Kiran knocked on the door was greeted by the wizard Kond Medrivh himself. He shared the story of the carpet and began leading the party further into the castle, but Adara sensed something off about the carpet and tried to knock Melanthios off the carpet to see what would happen.
