Flameskull

A flameskull is a fiery undead typically crafted from the skulls of dead spellcasters. Filled with malice, flameskulls are often used as guardians, gleefully burning intruders with myriad flame-based attacks.
A flameskull was encountered by the Hat Gang inside Wave Echo Cave, guarding the second half of the system. Upon it's defeat, the skull transformed into a Bhaal charm.

Basic Information

Anatomy

A flameskull appears to be a floating human skull, wreathed in green flame, which sheds light in a large area. The flameskull can dim it's flame for a time, if it so choses. They move in total silence, leaving a trail of flame in the air behind them, heard only when speaking, casting spells, or screaming for intimidation or just for effect.
A flameskull can cast offensive spells such as Fireball and Magic Missile, but is also capable of defending itself through the use of Shield and simmilar spells. Without casting spells, the skull is still able to hurl flame at enemies.

Although they lack the ability to see in the dark, this is circumvented by their ability to shed light.
