Daggerford
Daggerford is the name given to the fortified township situated on the Delimbyr River in the Sword Coast region of Faerun. The name can also used in a regional sense, referring to the town and its surrounding lands, which together comprise the Duchy of Daggerford. The town has a population of approximately 900 people, with the outlying hamlets, farms, and estates bringing the regional population to just over 2,000.
Strategically placed along the Trade Way and supported by dwarven-built castle of the region's ducal family, Daggerford is primarily a farming community; however, a desire to grow and become seen an influencial player in Sword Coast politics, especially in the eyes of its larger neighbour, Waterdeep, has led to an influx of craftsmen and artisans.
Although it does not boast a sizeable military force, Daggerford possesses a competent spy network, the Shadowcloaks, whose job is to monitor the region for threats, important political shifts, and opportunities, which are brought to the attention of Daggerford's ruling body via its ranking spymaster.
