Hyla the Low
Goddess of the Deep, of Gems, and the Unworthy Dead. In her caverns, lit by candles and all the jewels of the earth, rest those too cowardly, too old, too young, or simply not fine enough for the halls of Eröd.
Divine Domains
Death, gemstones, maggots, decay, the dark.
Artifacts
The Gravenmask - A mask of hewn bone, of which all skulls are made in imitation. When man was first created, they asked Hyla, both most beautiful and revolting amongst them, to fashion its face. Instead, she made what lay beneath every face, handing the crafting of the outside to the muse Dal who made them simply in imitation of the gods. When she showed the rest of the gods that first mask, that of death itself, only to be revealed once life had passed and the maggots had stripped it of its flesh, they could do nothing but grow pale and nod in acquiescence, fearing that perhaps that white mask lay beneath all their own skins. The mask is said to give true sight, as well as terrify and grant mastery of darkness.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
