The Union of Radical Aid
The last 80 years has seen Ghearas go through almost unthinkable industrialisation and economical progress, despite it's isolation. But despite this, as some people quickly realised, it did not mean progress and prosperity for all. Just some 15 years After Rapture the first union was started by Yara Tarizh, something that was quickly quashed and declared illegal; but as that first union collapsed due to it's illegality and worries from on high, Tarizh restarted her union. Only difference now being that she embraced what they saw her as: a criminal.
While the Union has foremost worked in gathering money to support workers, help organise demonstrations (and potentially riots), while also helping protect intellectuals who strive a bit too far to the left, they have always been forced into a position of illegal action to keep functioning. Sabotaging factories in retaliation, bank robbery, burglary targeting the rich of the city, and smuggling remaining as mainstays. Despite this, they remain beloved by the working class of the city due to the support they provide.
While unions have become legal in recent years, mostly to rob the Union of Radical Aid of their popularity, this simply means that respectable unions can work publically while still recieving aid from and cooperating with the first Union of Radical Aid.
Structure
The Union is based in a secretively protected headquarter in the slums, which often changes locations a few times a year. From there the union boss coordinates relief for workers, plans out possible strikes and demonstrations, and figures out which illicit activites are providing the most revenue and thus what to focus on. Orders are then sent out to members given leadership roles who are then to organise what they're assigned using the members in their are and/or workplace.
Public Agenda
To help the workers, and if possible force reforms on a rotten system.
Assets
A few printing presses, soup kitchens, requisitioned forges, and hideouts spread out around the city.
