Ghul Fever

Ghul Fever (Febris Algolae) is a curse that originates from the miasmatic fog that arises from the flooded banks of the Asri River in Khemia. Within a day of contact, the victim will experience a slight fever and feeling of malaise; if left to run its course, one will die within a week. Horrifically, those who succumb to ghul fever will rise an undead ghul the next night.

Transmission & Vectors

The curse of ghul fever is primarily transmitted the bite or scratch of a ghul. However, individuals who approach the banks of the Asri River during its flooding season may also contract this curse if they breathe in the toxic fumes that eminate from the riverbanks at this time.

Treatment

There is no known mundane treatment for ghul fever; only powerful healing theurgies granted by the gods may prevent the transformation.
