The Lost City XXI
General Summary
Fighting, so much Fighting.
After a quick search and extremely sketchy burial (some might say mere concealment of the corpses, Maya forbid) of the slain gate guards, the party saw Alexandru and Riven climb up to the edge of the hutment area of the Yawfadi village and secure a rope for the less nimble party member. The inevitable rockslide occurs, and Alexandru and Riven dart into the shadows around the hut. Theo begins to climb, while Tele and the others try to stay out of sight below.
A torch bearing Yafwadi comes around the hut and is surprised. Alex darts out, but misses with Nut-Reaper. Theo finishes his climb and summons the Glowing Hammer of Ator, smiting the torcher bearer. Riven adds an arrow for good measure and Teleypton and Khufu begin climbing the ladder.
A large Yafwadi rounds the hut and spears Alex in the side. This greatly angers Kegho, who cleaves the torch bearer in twain, the better to get at the spearman. Theo hammers the spearman, as Alex and Riven finish him off. The last Yawfawdi in the hut rounds the side and throws a spear, hitting Kegho. After Theo once again hammers the Yafwadi, Kegho once again cleaves his foe in twain.
In a short moment later, a second group of Yafwadi rushes the party and deal some harm to Kegho before Teleypton incinerates one, Riven slashes to effect while Khufu magically bolsters Kegho's Virtue. Kegho incurs some harm from a spear and the massive retaliation of the group includes Tele's magic missile slaying one, Riven slashing, Khufu hammering and Theo's one last Spirit hammer. The party moves on to the caves, while Theo provides some aid to Kegho.
In the entryway of the caves a pair of braziers lights the way...and a set of footprints goes to a wall, where Alex begins to look for a hidden entrance. On the other side of the entranceway is a wooden door, with the same crude sigils drawn on them. Listening at the door, reveals that the room beyond is occupied by Yafwadi. Alex discovers a hidden door, that opens inward...
The party enters - and a chamber is bfore them, Theo strides in and discovers cell doors and 2 guards. Theo bluffs and uses Soothing Words of Maya to confuse the guards. This confusion is lifted, when Khufu tries to continue the bluff and the Yafwadi react poorly. Kegho say "enough talk" and steps in and shoots a guard dead with a satisfied grunt. The prisoners begin to cry for help in a variety of languages...
