Tomb of the Sorcerer-Kings
The Tomb of the Sorcerer-Kings is a large necropolis and temple complex that was constructed by the Apophian Djeti Empire during the Third Age of Tel. Carved into the side of a mesa in the Nekhsati Mountains, it houses the remains of Djeti nobility.
Purpose / Function
The purpose of the tomb was two-fold; the temple complex was devoted to the worship of various Apophian gods, including Akhen-At-Im and Chafraw Kam. Below the temple complex, was a large burial chamber for the various sorcerer-kings and warriors that made up the noble caste of Djeti society.
Architecture
The tomb's interior walls were carved out of the sandstone that forms the Nehksati Mountains. These walls were decorated with painted murals as well as inscribed with Djeti heiroglyphics; if knowledge of the Djeti language wasn't lost to time, Telian sages could learn much about the history of the Djeti Empire by studying these murals and glyphs.
