Urgontur

Urgontur is the oldest section of the city, due to the fact that it was originally a collection of ruins from the Precursor Race, which the ancestors of Skyhome reclaimed. The ancient structures, made largely from brick, concrete, and ancient limestone, have been built upon and rebuilt over the centuries of re-occupation, as Skyhome literally grew their city from these ruins, reverse engineering technology that allowed for the remarkable achievements of engineering that dominate the city's skyline to this day. 
Urgontur is the civic heart of Skyhome, as it is where the majority of the city's central government is located (although there are dozens of courthouses, jails, and smaller civic organizations scattered throughout the city). The district is home to New City Hall, Old City Hall, and Old Old City Hall, each building being where The Parliament holds its bi-weekly meetings to discuss policy. The first and oldest station of the Cloud Guard is also located in this district, along with the sanitation department, civic planning, and the taxing bureau.  
Like all districts of Skyhome, Urgontur is also covered in densely packed residential tenements, and the streets are lined with bustling shops and industry. The towers here stretch slightly taller than the city's average, however, owning to the local's needs to build ever higher and higher upon the foundations of this ancient city.

Guilds and Factions

A number of guilds maintain their head offices here, so they have ready access to the politicians they fund and the legislation they choose to push or bury.

Points of interest

This district is home to McDuft's Tavern, the oldest pub on the island. The founder of the pub, one Ebenezer McDuft, rediscovered the art of boozecraft and reintroduced it to the people of Skyhome. Although the current owners are no longer related to the founder, McDuft's has maintained its name after the man who started it all.
