Glacier
Gela-Ziir is not sure about anything: His memories, his identity, his heritage, or his purpose. Nevertheless, he pursues all of those things with single-minded zeal. He thinks that he is a prince of a tribe, clan, or community of Ice People, and that his people entered a deep “cold sleep” during the warming of the Earth, one intended to last until the next great glacial period covered the world in ice once again. Awakened prematurely, Gela-Ziir remains confused about many things: The lost site of his people was not where he recalled. He is unclear about the details of his own life prior to the Great Sleep; images and memories are dreamlike, fragmentary, and often contradictory.
Still, he knows two things for certain: The Earth is overrun by a barbaric human civilization and it is in the process of destroying whatever slim hope the surviving Ice People have of ever awakening to see their world again. Humans have shown him nothing but duplicity, suspicion, and hatred in Gela-Ziir’s view, and they blatantly disregard signs they are polluting and damaging the ecological balance of the world beyond repair.
Since his initial reawakening, Glacier (as he is now called) has sought to stop and reverse the damage caused by humanity, even attempting to create a new ice age through artificial means, and considering eradicating (or at least greatly reducing) the human population. He has also ceaselessly sought any signs of surviving Ice People, hidden in their cold sleep in still-frozen parts of the world. The very small handful he has found thus far could not be successfully revived, and Glacier despairs for the survival of his race, if he cannot succeed.
Glacier looks like a slim but muscular man of indeterminate age, partially because his hair is completely white.
He is clean-shaven and his skin is cobalt blue and as hard as super-frozen ice. He tends to dress practically in simple clothes offering freedom of movement but has been known to go for outlandish costumes and fashions he feels befit a “Prince of the Ice People.”
