House Beowulf
"Every hill is a hill worth dying on, if we were to stop once then what's to stop us from stopping again?"
History
House Beowulf was founded by one of the eight Companions of the Highlander King, Beowulf. According to legend, Beowulf was an imposing man in both stature and strength. He was a more than capable warrior whose temper could only be controlled supposedly by an unnamed wife and by the word of the Highlander King alone. With a Greataxe in hand like his favored Deity, Lord Ddraig Goch, he would destroy his enemies with extreme prejudice using his variant of Red Magic that he learned from the Highlander King and in prayer from Lord Ddraig Goch: Rage. With such rage and ferocity in battle, it was natural that he held a bear in his heraldry and symbol. His was that of a white bear wielding a red axe against a black and white background. His descendants, Knightly Orders, and Knights also carried a bear of some sort in their heraldry.
Some of the more heretical writings claim that that Beowulf was a Goliath whose blood and ancestors had been warped by the rampant magic of Giants in the Pale during the Arrival of Mankind. Also according to legend, he and Setanta were friends before even meeting the Highlander King and the Great Revolution. They would get into contests of strength and speed to show off their prowess to their men and to prove themselves to each other as warriors.
House Beowulf, like House Setanta, helped make up the bulk of the main army of House Highlander. During the Great Rebellion, they fell shortly after House Setanta in the face of the New Blood's Warforged army. For they were the right and left hands of the King's reach on the field of battles, if they both fell there was little muscle left in the King's army. Thus the their fall was one of the final nails in the coffin of the Kingdom of Man.
